Nope. Hair soap and shampoo bars are chemically very different. 🙅🏻♀️
Hair soap is made with sodium hydroxide and other saponified oils. It is a product that can be used as a shampoo, but would require an additional acid rinse to remove oil residue and tackiness (not the most efficient use of anyone's time tbh). Hair soap is basically soap that you can use on both your hair and body. 🛀🏻
A shampoo bar contains the same ingredients as a bottle of shampoo, minus the water and the plastic bottle. Our ingredients are high quality and non-toxic for you and for the planet. Yas Alpaca bars foam up really quickly! 🛁 Simply rub the bar between your hands until it's foamy, apply foam directly to the hair and scalp, and rinse thoroughly.
Keeping it dry and away from water is key! 💁🏻♂️ Ideally, you should keep your bar in a self-draining soap tray or shampoo bar storage container. Do not store your bar in an airtight soap holder because a shampoo bar needs air circulation to keep its shape. Check out Yas Alpaca-approved storage in our Shop.
This one is tough. It depends on the length and thickness of your hair and how often you wash it. A typical Yas Alpaca shampoo bar 🦙 lasts as long as a 300ml bottle of regular liquid shampoo.

❌ Nope. No plastics are welcome in our products or packaging practices. 🧐 You will find that our shampoos are wrapped in a clear film made from cellulose (NOT PLASTIC); it is completely biodegradable.
Yaaas! Our packaging is made out of Kraft paper and our wrapping film is made from cellulose, which is 100% biodegradable. Kraft paper degrades naturally within a few weeks, decomposing just like leaves that fall off a tree. It can also be recycled for use in new packaging. ♻️✅
